The more expensive the line of cosmetics, the better they are, right?

Especially for skincare, would it be better to go with the high-end lines advertised by female celebrities? I’ve heard that the more famous the brand and the higher the price, the less likely it is to cause breakouts, and that you see results after just a few applications. For skincare products, wouldn't slightly more expensive ones have better spreadability, absorb well into the skin, and keep it moisturized for a long time?
