Pro tips for applying lip tint well

Why is it that when I apply lip tint, my upper lip just stays the same? If I keep reapplying it, only my lower lip gets darker ㅠㅠ... I can't wear lipstick because I have a habit of picking at my lips, so I keep tasting it. That's also why I find myself reaching for lip tint more often...

Does it apply well to everyone's upper lip as well? Or maybe it's just that I break my habit faster...?
