Sunscreen expiration dates and how to use expired sunscreen.

Do you know the difference between the expiration date and the actual use-by date of sunscreen?

Just like all products, the expiration date is written on the sunscreen.

Generally, at the bottom of the back of products such as sun sticks, sun creams, sun sprays, and sun lotions

It is written as 12M or 6M in the shape of a cream lid.

Sunscreen expiration dates and how to use expired sunscreen.

6M means the shelf life of the sunscreen is 6 months after opening, and

12M means the usage period is 12 months.

I recommend that you boldly throw away sunscreen if the expiration date has passed, even if it has already been opened.

They say that if it expires like this, it can cause skin problems.

Or, it is said that the UV protection effect is absent or reduced.

I also once didn't check the expiration date and applied sunscreen from my bag, and my skin completely broke out.

Then, can I use unopened sunscreen?

The U.S. FDA states that even unopened sunscreens without an expiration date,

They say that after 3 years, it is determined that the UV protection effect is lost.

Try using sunscreen that has expired but is too good to throw away in this way.

  1. You can remove water stains by wiping the sink faucet dry, applying sunscreen on it, and then wiping it clean with a kitchen towel after 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. If you apply sunscreen evenly to a glass or plastic bottle with sticker residue, and then wipe it off with a dry towel after 5 minutes, the sticker will be removed.
  3. If there is stickiness on scissors or the back of a knife, you can remove it by applying sunscreen and wiping it off after 10 minutes.
  4. If you apply sunscreen to a dry cloth and then apply it to dry leather, you can clean dirty leather.
  5. When you need to remove permanent marker, you can remove it with sunscreen instead of acetone or alcohol.
  6. For shoes with rubber soles, stains form on the soles and do not come off easily even after washing, but if you wipe them with sunscreen, the dirt comes off easily.
  7. After applying sunscreen to the bathroom mirror, try wiping it with a dry cloth. The stain will be removed.
