Sun care on cloudy days

I am writing a comment on the sun care board, and I heard that we should apply sunscreen even on days like today when it looks like it might rain any minute. I’ve heard that UV rays are present even on cloudy days, so I find myself going out without applying sunscreen on days like this. Is there anything that can substitute for sunscreen?
