Are there any tone-up sunscreens that aren't oily?
Are there any tone-up sunscreens that aren't oily?
Many of you probably struggle with choosing a tone-up sunscreen every morning before applying makeup, right?
I, too, have become a tone-up sunscreen nomad, wandering around for years in search of the product that suits me.😭
It seems like simply providing good UV protection would be enough, but why is it so hard to find a product that suits my skin?
First of all, I have acne (pustular), oily, dehydrated, and breakout-prone skin, and I have red skin with flushing.
My biggest concern is oiliness.
Even when I tried products advertised as being refreshing, the oiliness around my T-zone would get worse over time.
Especially in hot summer weather like this, when it mixes with sweat, it feels like oil has been applied—it feels like it's dripping. I really dislike that dripping sensation and the stickiness.
Some products feel matte only when applied, but after a few hours, oiliness returns, causing the inconvenience of having to touch up.
Applying powder once or twice is fine, but if I apply it multiple times, my makeup looks thick and even clumps, so I'm really struggling with this.
My second concern is the white cast.
I want a product that brightens my skin tone naturally, but there are many products that look too white and cakey.
Especially since my skin tone is on the darker side, if I apply it incorrectly, the color of my neck and face don't match, which can lead to an embarrassing situation.
I couldn't shake the feeling that I was wearing a mask on my face, so I didn't find myself reaching for it often. Since it was a hassle to squeeze out just a small amount before application and reapply it multiple times or spread it with a sponge, I’m starting to want to try a tone-up sunscreen that spreads thinly and lightly without being greasy.
Lastly, it is also important to find ingredients that suit your skin type.
As I mentioned above, I have sensitive skin, so if I use a product with the wrong ingredients, it can cause breakouts. Also, because my skin is dry, the characteristic stiffness of tone-up sunscreens can make dead skin cells look even worse. I have tried various products to find one that suits me, but it is really frustrating because many of them don't actually work for my skin when I try them.
Is there really no tone-up sunscreen that evens out skin tone, keeps it matte and non-greasy all day long, and is comfortable to use without burdening the skin?
Have you perhaps had the same concerns as me...?
If you have any product recommendations, please share them.
