Hair loss prevention shampoo

As I get older, I am experiencing severe hair loss on the crown of my head. A lot of hair falls out when I wash it, and handfuls drop up whenever I comb it. Now, I don't even want to go out without wearing a hat. I wish I could just maintain my current hair without it falling out any further. Are there any good shampoos available to prevent hair loss?
