Please recommend an ointment that is good for post-surgery scars.

My body started showing warning signs, so I had to have surgery! As a result, I ended up with a big scar on my stomach! I cried so much the first day I saw the scar after being discharged. I applied the medicine the hospital prescribed, but I wasn't sure if it was actually working. Still, I applied it diligently.

It has been about a year since my surgery. Is there an ointment that can help fade the scar? Please recommend one.
