Sunscreen suitable for acne-prone skin

My child has severe acne; should they use mineral sunscreen?

I'm also curious if sun sticks are divided into organic and inorganic types. My child says they want to use a sun stick because regular sunscreen gets on their hands, so I'm wondering if the effectiveness is the same, and if just any type can be used on acne-prone skin.

I also want to know the duration.
