Is there a way to get rid of acne scars and hyperpigmentation?

My acne scars have turned hyperpigmented... Is it impossible to get rid of this?

Do things like topical creams not work?

It's on my face and I don't like looking at it... so please recommend a way to get rid of it.

I've been applying sunscreen consistently... what should I do?
