Are peeling swabs effective for exfoliating?

I've noticed a lot of peeling swabs coming out on the market these days.
It's a peeling cotton swab, so I think it will be convenient since you don't have to use your hands.

I'm getting interested in this too, and I'm curious if it peels as well as other peeling gel products.

It claims to effectively remove excess dead skin cells and uneven skin texture. Is it really that effective?
