How effective is a glass foot callus remover?

I'm currently using a standard sandpaper-type one that's a bit rough, but it seems like glass foot exfoliators are the trend these days, as I see a lot of people using them. The product looks good; has anyone used it? What is it like? Since it's glass, I'm a bit scared it might break if I use it in the bathroom.
