How to use dental floss?

When flossing, can I insert it into the parts that are hard to reach?

I tried using dental floss to remove food stuck between my gums, but there were some parts that wouldn't go in easily.

I'm not sure if it's right to force it in to remove the foreign object... since I don't know much about oral care yet.

I'm not sure.
