Is the tongue cleaner good?

Throughout my life, cleaning my tongue with a toothbrush while brushing my teeth was all I ever did. But while looking into this oral care event, I noticed that many people use tongue cleaners.

I've never tried it before. For those of you who use it, is it good? Is it definitely more effective than a toothbrush?
