Preemptive Cavity Prevention! High-Fluoride Toothpaste <Enzycal 1450>
For a long time, fluoride has been treated as a toxic substance. Toothpastes emphasizing safety by using phrases such as "fluoride-free" or "low-fluoride" have been widely distributed.
However, fluoride is actually one of the significant ingredients in toothpaste and is said to be essential for preventing cavities.
Let me share some content from the consultation manual within the 2022 Oral Examination Dentist Manual. According to this manual, fluoride toothpaste must be used to prevent cavities in infants and young children, and using toothpaste containing 1,000–1,500 ppm of fluoride is acceptable. (However, it states that controlling the amount of toothpaste used is essential to avoid potential complications such as fluorosis.)
I am very particular about brushing my teeth, so I have a strong interest in toothpaste and have tried countless varieties over the years. I am especially sensitive about cavity prevention, so ever since I learned about the benefits of fluoride, I have exclusively purchased and used high-fluoride toothpaste, and I have even tried ordering it directly from overseas.
Recently, I purchased and have been using Enzycal 1450 toothpaste, produced by Curaprox, an oral care brand of the Swiss company Curaden. I am very satisfied with it, so I am writing this recommendation post.
As clearly stated in the name, the fluoride content is quite high at 1,450 ppm. Although it lacks the minty spiciness of mint, so you may not experience that characteristic freshness, there is a slight coolness in the aftertaste, leaving a clean feeling that lasts after brushing.
However, the important question is whether high-fluoride toothpaste really prevents cavities, isn't it? Based on my experience using high-fluoride toothpaste for many years, yes. It does prevent cavities. Cavities that existed before using the toothpaste progressed very slowly or stopped developing after I started using it. Of course, this may vary depending on an individual's brushing habits, but if you use high-fluoride toothpaste and follow the proper brushing technique, wouldn't you be able to worry less about cavity progression, just like me? I recommend <Enzycal 1450>, a high-fluoride toothpaste effective for preventing cavities.
I am not a dentist, so I lack knowledge regarding fluoride. I have written only what I have seen, learned, and experienced.
