I am recommended scaling every time I go for a check-up; should I get it done every time?

I am someone who is trying to take care of my teeth.

I usually visit the dentist every 6 to 9 months for regular checkups.

Every time I went, the director or the dental hygienist always recommended that I get a scaling.

Actually, while scaling feels refreshing, there are times when it can be a bit burdensome because the gums feel sensitive or the gaps between the teeth feel wide.

So sometimes I say, "I'll do it next time," and postpone it from time to time,

I'm suddenly worried that putting it off like this might seriously affect my dental health.

For those of you who usually visit every 6 to 9 months like me, do you get a scaling every time you go?

Or do you skip it once in a while like me, depending on your condition?

Being recommended this at every regular check-up sometimes feels a bit like a commercial offer, but on the other hand, I wonder if they are saying it because it is really necessary, so I am conflicted.

I am curious how those of you who, like me, are advised to get a scaling done at every regular visit usually respond.

Is the answer to just accept it without delay? I would appreciate your honest experiences and advice!
