My pores are getting wider. Please recommend a pore pack to shrink them!

Now that I'm in my 40s, my pores are getting noticeably wider and the pigmentation around them is getting worse, so I'm worried.

I have tried a pore serum before, but it made my skin oilier and my nose unusually shiny, so I stopped using it. Because of that experience, I am hesitant to use serums. Also, I tried a pore nose pack when I was younger; it was a peel-off type, but when I peeled it off, my skin felt sore, stinging, and irritated, turning red. Since then, I haven't used it again, and I don't think I felt it was very effective.

I feel like I need to address this before it's too late. Please recommend ways to shrink pores or effective pore packs that aren't irritating!
