I recommend the Daiso nail cover base coat.

My nails are dry and very cracked, so I want them to look shiny.

I bought this product. The color is a transparent pink, so it doesn't stand out much, but it definitely gives the nails a coated look, which I think makes them look neat and tidy. I love that it's affordable, too. Lately, I've been constantly applying, removing, and reapplying only this product. If you go to Daiso and look for "nail cover base coat," you can find this product. I highly recommend it to anyone with dry, brittle nails like mine.
