Some people were debating between the 40mm and 36mm, but you can achieve big waves with the 36mm as well if you gently loosen the curling iron while gripping. If the waves are too big, the hold isn't very good. Unless you're planning to only do big waves and find it a hassle, I recommend the 36mm!
