How to apply hair essence without slathering it on

The title is a bit too grandiose, but I found that hair essence can easily make my hair look greasy.

So, if you rub some essence in your hands, push all your hair forward like a ghost, and then comb it using your fingers like webbing, it won't look greasy haha.
