Criteria for choosing hair dye

I don't really like the distinctive scent of hair dye. Do you have any criteria for choosing a product with a good scent? My friend has a personal preference for brown shades, but she doesn't have a particular preference for scents. I am sensitive to scents, so I want to choose a mild product. Please give me some recommendations.
