If you look at the vanity in newly built apartments, it is located at the very back of the master bedroom, in front of the en-suite bathroom.
This is the result of a design kept in mind for two reasons. One is that it was designed to be a place where sunlight does not enter, and the other is for convenience—to minimize the movement path after washing up.
However, from the perspective of storing cosmetics, actually... being next to the bathroom isn't really that great.

The worst part is storing it in the bathroom.
In fact, it is not particularly good to store basic cosmetics like lotion or toner in the bathroom. However, there are some cosmetics that are a bit awkward to store anywhere other than the bathroom. Representative examples are products such as cleansing cream and shampoo lotion.
For these products, it is best to keep them in the bathroom and make a habit of always closing the lids. For other cosmetics (including skin lotion!), it is best to move them to the vanity for storage whenever possible.
The optimal location for a vanity is a spot where sunlight does not reach. Many people place their vanities by a window to utilize natural sunlight while applying makeup; however, to prolong the life of your cosmetics, it is best to avoid windows and place the vanity in the furthest corner.
