The difference between inorganic and organic sunscreens

Mineral sunscreens are physical blockers that provide a blocking effect by physically reflecting ultraviolet rays. Because mineral sunscreens form a film on the surface to achieve this reflective effect, a white cast may occur. While they have the advantage of providing immediate UV protection, they must be thoroughly removed with a second cleansing step.

Organic sunscreens provide UV protection by breaking down absorbed UV rays and releasing them as heat. Due to the high chemical content, organic sunscreens may cause skin irritation on sensitive skin. They have the advantage of applying more smoothly and leaving less of a white cast compared to inorganic sunscreens. However, a disadvantage is that they require time to absorb into the skin, so they must be applied 20 to 30 minutes before going out.
