A famous makeup artist told me that applying eyeshadow with your hands enhances skin adhesion and color payoff due to the warmth of your hands. So I've often tried that method when applying eyeshadow, and it seems they are right. Also, wiping off any eyeshadow on your hands with a cotton pad used for skincare keeps everything clean.
