There's a saying, isn't there? When is the biggest holiday for beauty enthusiasts? 🤑 It's the Olive Young sale period!

Did you all buy a lot of cosmetics during the Olive Young Big Sale and Black Friday Sale? Haha. As a beauty enthusiast who loves cosmetics so much, I am living a perfect⁉️ life where I dedicate all my earnings to cosmetics.

As I try out a lot of cosmetics, I have holy grail products that I always stock up on, but I also experience a lot of failures.

So today, I’m going to share two best items ⭕️ and two worst items ❌ that I bought during the Olive Young sale!

 

 

Best Item

 

1 . L'Oréal Paris Extraordinary Oil Silk Mask

I tend to style my hair frequently using an Airwrap, and I've also had perms at the salon several times, so my hair is severely damaged 🥹. That's why I watched YouTube videos and blogs many times, searching really hard to find a hair mask that would be good for me. Eventually, during the recent Olive Young sale, I ended up purchasing the L'Oréal Paris Extraordinary Oil Silk Mask!

 

💇‍♀️ Since I have notoriously severe curly hair, I’ve looked into and tested a lot of hair products (hair masks, treatments) from other brands. They felt really good at first, but that softness would disappear immediately, and my hair would become stiff after rinsing and drying ㅠㅠ. However, with the L'Oréal mask, the softness lasted until my hair was dry, and I loved it so much💗

 

As for how I use it, I shampoo my hair every day, and then apply the hair pack every two days and leave it on for about 10 minutes!! After shampooing and putting on the pack, I found that the timing worked out perfectly if I used the remaining time to brush my teeth, wash my body, and finish cleansing.

 

The L'Oréal treatment has a thick consistency, so unlike other hair products, it didn't run uncomfortably, and I noticed that it didn't leave any greasy residue when rinsing with water after leaving it on for 10 minutes!!

 

Since it's winter, my hair gets dry and frizzy easily, just like yours. I recommend trying a hair mask during this season!

 

2. Peripera Speedy Skinny Brow 09 Taupe Brown

 

 

Out of all my makeup, eyebrows are the hardest for me 🤨.. Are there many others like me? ㅠㅠ As someone notorious for having thick, Crayon Shin-chan eyebrows, my eyebrows are naturally very thick and long, so at first I had a really hard time because I didn't know how to draw them.

I was debating what to buy during the Olive Young sale when a friend recommended a great eyebrow product for beginners, so I purchased and tried the Peripera Speedy Skinny Brow in shade 09 Taupe Brown! Looking at the details again, I realized this is a massive hit product that has sold a cumulative 5.34 million units!!! After actually using it, I felt like there is a reason why it is so famous and why I only discovered it now 💦

 

First of all, since the name itself is "Skinny Brow," the brow pencil applies very thinly and finely! Also, the color payoff is subtle and light so it isn't overwhelming, so I think it's a great product for beginners to use while controlling the application little by little.

 

 

The color I chose is 09 Taupe Brown🤎! I usually enjoy doing "power cool summer" pink makeup, and since I tend to dislike wearing colors that are even slightly warm or have a reddish tint, I selected this shade. It is a cool gray color with almost no brown undertones, making it great for daily wear for both cool summer and cool winter types. Since it applies lightly, I would also like to recommend it to those who find dark eyebrows overwhelming.

 

However, one downside I noticed while using it for a short period is that because the pencil is really, really thin, it breaks easily if you extend it too much or use it carelessly while doing your makeup. So please make sure to keep this in mind!

 

Disappointing item

 

1 . Be Ready Cica Caffeine Trouble Set Serum 40ml

 

 

I have sensitive skin prone to breakouts 🥵, and since I still have blemishes from high school that haven't faded, I usually tend to use skincare products that help improve those marks! Therefore, I decided to purchase the Be Ready Cica Caffeine Trouble Set Serum because the name itself includes the phrase "trouble reset," and I also received recommendations for it on YouTube.

 

To start with the conclusion, the reason I chose this as the worst is that I felt it didn't suit my skin type well. Since I have sensitive yet dehydrated oily skin, the finish after using this product felt quite greasy. Also, I bought this after seeing rave reviews in YouTube videos about acne, but I didn't see any effects such as breakouts clearing up quickly or acne scars improving.

 

 

The texture is a viscous, runny consistency commonly found in acne serums! So, when I first applied it, I liked that it didn't feel too heavy and seemed to absorb well, but I was disappointed with the finish. However, if you have dry skin, it might actually be good to use during the winter!

 

Another downside is the price. The regular price is 38,000 won for 40ml, but personally, I didn't see any significant effects while using this product. So, I feel the price is a bit too high to justify emptying the bottle and using it for a long time just to see results.

 

 

2. Mediheal  Madecassoside Blemish Repair Serum

 

 

I have been praising the Mediheal Madecassoside line in other posts and reviews on Unnie's Pouch... 😵‍💫 That is how much Mediheal is a brand I love as someone with acne-prone skin ㅠㅠ So, I purchased this Madecassoside Blemish Repair Serum with really, really high expectations, but the greater my expectations and affection for the brand, the greater my disappointment and regret.

 

I stocked up on more than two bottles and tried using them, worried that I might not be seeing good results because I was in a sensitive period. However, after using more than two bottles, I actually feel noticeably disappointed with the product itself.

 

I suffer from severe acne scars and tend to get new breakouts frequently during sensitive periods, but I did not see any effect from this product in terms of scar improvement or soothing breakouts. In fact, it felt like small, whiteheads were appearing while I was using it.

I think the texture of this product probably didn't suit me. I have dehydrated oily skin, but this product felt very greasy. As I applied it, I barely felt like it was absorbing into my skin; instead, it felt like the oil was just sitting on the surface. Since applying this serum before bed left a strong oily finish, I suspect that the breakouts I experienced in the morning might have been caused by that excess oil.

 

Since I have praised and loved most Mediheal products so much, I was even more disappointed, which is why I ended up picking this as the worst.
