How to make straight, permed hair curls last longer !!!
Hello, this is @seooyouu___🪽
How do you all manage your hair care and styling after a perm? I have curly roots, thick, coarse hair that tends to be limp, and very thick... Since my hair is so thick and limp, the style comes undone very quickly with just a regular curling iron or hairdryer. 😭
So, I get a perm sometimes for a change of pace and to add some volume! You know that with a perm, you have to dry it properly and style it well to maintain pretty curls, right? Right now, I’m going to show you how to keep your curls looking beautiful. 😎
First of all, I have a layered cut with a C-curl perm! The salon told me that just shaking it dry would be enough, but my hair is so damaged and I'm so clumsy with my hands... so shaking it dry just turned into shaking out the water ㅠㅠ haha. You've all had this experience, right?!! If that happens, try following along with me.
First, apply essence and curl cream to damp hair! Mix them in a ratio of about 5 parts essence to 1.5 parts curl cream and apply. (This is based on long hair.) I apply only a little curl cream because very tight curls don't suit me, but if you want thicker, larger curls, you can apply a bit more. I use Anove Essence and Mise en Scène Curl Cream, but you can use the essence and curl cream that suit your hair type. ❤️
After applying essence and curl cream, I dry my hair. I quickly twist my part to the side and dry it thoroughly starting from the roots. Drying the roots well prevents odors and keeps the root volume intact!! I dry from the roots closest to the crown and make sure to dry the inner layers well too. 🤩
After drying like this, the hair itself is still wet, while the roots are somewhat dry!!
At this point, use your fingers to curl and roll the hair inward toward your face. ⭐ The reason for curling it inward is that (in my case) the C-curl perm needs to be rolled inward to bring it to life and create a framing effect on the face! Also, in my personal opinion, having a slight wave mixed in makes the cheeks look a bit fuller than just C-curls, which makes the face look smaller and the volume appear much more alive!
If you have twisted your hair inwards like a pretzel, just scrunch the twist as is! And voilà, these sophisticated, mature waves are born..❤️ Do you think the curls are too tight and unnatural? Not at all. After just a little while, the curls loosen just enough to become pretty and calm, creating a look that seems naturally styled with a curling iron. It is actually a perm, but the result is hair that isn't too frizzy!!
It’s just a simple routine, but it’s a hairstyle I’ve actually been wearing a lot lately, and I love it so much that I wanted to share it with anyone looking for natural waves or flat hair. 🥹
It might be a little difficult to create these curls on straight hair, but if you have fine hair that curls easily with a hairdryer, I think it would look really pretty if you tried drying it using this method and then set it with hairspray ❤️
